IRCTC, Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation is facing an outage. Users took to Twitter to complain about the IRCTC server being down at peak hours of the day. The customers are facing issues while booking tickets on the web and on the app.
In a clarification issued by IRCTC, the ticketing service is unavailable for technical reasons. The service provider even mentioned in a tweet that they will notify the users once the issue is resolved. The tweet said, “Our technical team is resolving the issue. We will notify as soon as the technical issue is fixed.”
Twitter was bombarded with users complaining about the glitch and how the issue has clashed with the Tatkal booking slots. The Tatkal booking for AC class (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E) starts at 10:00 am and at 11:00 am for Non- AC class (SL/FC/2S).

IRCTC is an online platform available on the web and on the app that offers railway ticketing facilities to passengers.
IRCTC is also preparing to launch a novel ticket-booking feature. The upcoming voice-based e-ticket booking system by IRCTC aims to simplify and expedite the online reservation process. As per reports, IRCTC is conducting pilot tests of this feature on its AI platform, ' Ask Disha’.
The company reported a net profit of Rs 278.79 crore at the end of the quarter ending March 31, 2023 — reporting a rise of Rs 65.01 crore (or 30.4 per cent) — from Rs 213.78 crore it had reported at the end of Q4FY22.
