Since the mass layoffs season is here, now, networking major Cisco has reportedly started with its layoffs. In a rebalancing move, Cisco layoffs have reportedly hit as many as 4,000 employees in this recent round of tech layoffs.
As per an IANS report, Cisco layoffs have started after reports surfaced last month that the company may soon axe some jobs. With this, close to 5 per cent of the Cisco workforce is expected to be impacted in a “rebalancing move.”
As the company is “rightsizing certain businesses,” as per the Silicon Valley Business Journal, several job cuts are being reported at Cisco. As per IANS, one company employee also said on Blind, “Impacted by Cisco layoffs!”

The Cisco layoff affected employee, as per the reported, also added, “Looking for immediate (software engineering) referrals. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks.”
The IANS report adds that Cisco did not directly comment on the layoffs at the company but simply said in a statement, “We did not take this decision lightly, and we will offer those impacted extensive support, including generous severance package.”
In a previous report by Silicon Valley Business Journal, it was mentioned that “Chuck Robbins, the Chairman and CEO of Cisco did not divulge any detail on laying off employees, saying he would be reluctant to go into a lot of detail here until we’re able to talk to them. I would say that what we’re doing is rightsizing certain businesses.”
