Meta layoffs, which have already been making news, are back, this time reportedly impacting engineers and other employees in tech teams. As per a report, the Mark Zuckerberg-led Facebook parent is continuing its plan to sack employees as a cost-cutting measure.

According to a Reuters report, on Wednesday, another round of Meta layoffs was carried out at the social media giant, but this specifically, it hit engineers and adjacent tech teams. Before this, the Mark Zuckerberg-led company also announced that the mass layoffs would impact close to 10,000 employees and would be carried out batches, over several months.

However, even though several Meta employees were aware about the incoming layoffs, the job cuts made on Wednesday “prompted expressions of frustration from Meta employees,” as per the report. It adds, “Layoffs were the subject of the most popular questions posted on an internal company forum on Wednesday ahead of an upcoming employee town hall.”

As seen by the publication, one of the questions raised on the recent layoffs at Meta was, “You’ve shattered the morale and confidence in leadership of many high performers who work with intensity. Why should we stay at Meta?”

Meta is one of the few companies to have announced a second round of layoffs during a global economic downturn. Before this round, the company sacked close to 11,000 employees shocking many people despite a pandemic-led boom in the tech sector.
