Meta layoffs 2023, one of the biggest job cuts in the history of Mark Zuckerberg-led tech giant have reportedly resurfaced only to impact employees in Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. As per reports, Meta Platforms Inc. is all set to begin another round of company-wide layoffs on Wednesday.
According to a Bloomberg report, the Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta notified managers across platforms to announce job cuts. The memo, as seen by the publication, indicated Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Reality Labs’ employees to be impacted by this round of mass layoffs.
The report adds that these layoffs at all social media giants are a part of a cost-cutting push by Meta that will eventually led to 10,000 positions being eliminated. However, this round of job cuts will not be the end. In May, another round of layoffs at Facebook-parent Meta, is reportedly expected to follow.

Before this round of job cuts, Meta already slashed around 11,000 positions in November when the whole buzz around ‘tech layoffs’ in the event of a global economic downturn started. However, since cost-cutting measures are getting imperative for many tech companies, even Zuckerber’s comments reportedly signal towards Meta adopting more measures for rebalancing its business.
Apart from layoffs at WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, job cuts are also happening at Google, Amazon and others. Recently Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai also did not rule out another round of job cuts at Google.
