Parliament’s Budget Session To Begin On January 31; Union Budget 2023-24 To Be Presented On February 1: Report

The Union Budget 2023-24 will be presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on February 1, 2023.

With the Union Budget 2023-24 just around the corner, government’s preparations are in full swing. As per a latest report, the Parliament’s Budgetary Session is expected to begin from January 31, 2023 and conclude in April 2023. 

According to a report by the news agency ANI, government officials familiar with the developments have mentioned that the Budgetary Session of the Parliament is likely to begin from January 31 and end around April 6, 2023. However, an official announcement from the government is expected soon. 

The Union Budget 2023-24 will be presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on February 1, 2023. The ANI report adds that the first part of the Budget session is expected to continue till February 10, 2023.

It is further expected that the Economic Survey will be also be tabled in both Houses of the Parliament on the very first day of the Budget session, as per the report. In addition to this, it is also expected that the session may begin with an address by the President Droupadi Murmu in the Central Hall of Parliament. 

Every year, the Union Budget is presented across sessions. As per the report, the second part of the session is likely to start on March 6 and end on April 6, 2023. During this period, the major focus is expected to be on discussions for grants for various ministries apart from the government’s legislative agenda.
