The passport seva portal is a centralised system and aims to make the passport application related processes digital. It is an upgrade from the traditional passport and is used to apply for a new passport or renewal of a passport. E-portal is also part of a broader government plan of the National e-governance Plan. Additionally, it also eases the immigration process and increases digital safety for the passport holders.
The portal is a collaboration of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS).
