Birthday wishes were pouring in for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, as the leader of the world's largest democratic country celebrated his 75th birthday. Among the first to wish him was US President Donald Trump, who took a conciliatory tone amid the rough patch between India-US ties.

President Trump, in a phone conversation, thanked PM Modi for his support in ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, while wishing him on his birthday. President Trump also posted the birthday wishes on his Truth Social handle.

“Just had a wonderful phone call with my friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wished him a very Happy Birthday! He is doing a tremendous job. Narendra: Thank you for your support on ending the War between Russia and Ukraine!” he wrote.

PM Modi, while replying to President Trump's birthday wishes, reiterated his commitment to growing India-US ties.

"Thank you, my friend, President Trump, for your phone call and warm greetings on my 75th birthday. Like you, I am also fully committed to taking the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership to new heights. We support your initiatives towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict," he wrote.

This will mark PM Modi's 12th birthday in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). 

PM Modi Celebrates his 75th Birthday

Meanwhile, Modi, who usually celebrates his birthday by launching various government schemes, has similar plans as he turns 75.

This year, he plans to celebrate his birthday by launching 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah and Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar programs, from Madhya Pradesh.

These programs will be run from today, September 17 to 2 October at community health centres (CHCs), district hospitals, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and various government health facilities across the country.

Apart from that, more than one lakh health camps are expected to be organised, along with four to be organised by AIIMS Delhi.

What is His Net Worth? 

PM Modi, who describes himself as an ascetic, has a net worth of over ₹3 crores, according to information available on his Lok Sabha website. Over ₹2.86 crore of his income is in the form of bank deposits and fixed deposits with the State Bank of India (SBI), while he holds over ₹9.12 lakh in Postal Savings and national savings certificates (NSS). 

PM Modi also has around Rs 52,000 in cash, apart from owning four gold rings worth Rs 2,67,750. However, he does not owns any motor vehicles, according to the details. 

A resident of PM House at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg for more than a decade now, Modi has no residential or commercial properties registered under his name. 

From Chaiwala (Tea-Seller) to Prime Minister of India 

Born Narendra Damodardas Modi on September 17, 1950, in the small town of Mehsana, Vadnagar, Gujarat to Heeraben and Damodardas Mulchand Modi, he has spent much of his life in public service. He has at many public events described his humble beginning as a young boy selling tea with his father at Vadnagar railway station in Gujarat. 

However, a turn of events happened at the age of eight, when he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s junior cadet. An organisation that continues to shape his politics as he turned 75 today. 

In 2001, he became the chief minister of Gujarat and remained in the same position for nearly 15 years. After serving as the chief minister of Gujarat for three consecutive terms, in 2014, he climbed the political ladder, bidding adieu to his role as Gujarat CM and marking his entry in the national politics as the Prime Minister of India. In 2024, he began his third consecutive term as PM.
