Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that there is a need to increase the production capacity of millets and pay special attention to agricultural research. He said that strong infrastructure is available in Rajasthan for research on millets. Due to this, the young generation is getting opportunities to improve the future by taking higher education in the agriculture sector.
Gehlot was addressing the Rajasthan Millets Conclave-2023 organized at the State Institute of Agricultural Management, Durgapura on Monday. The Chief Minister said that the Green Revolution started as a result of agricultural research, the successful results of which our country achieved and we could become self-sufficient in the field of food grains.

He said that agricultural research would benefit the farmers in preparing their crops for the future. Important suggestions will emerge in the conclave for better production, management and marketing of millets. Gehlot said that budget provision has been made to provide 2,000 units of free electricity per month to the farmers. About 12 lakh farmers will be benefited by this. By providing 100 units of free electricity to domestic consumers, the electricity bills of about one crore consumers will become zero.
