Salesforce Layoffs To Affect 10% Workforce As Company Mulls Shutting Some Offices: Report

Salesforce layoffs are also reportedly about to begin and affect many employees. As per latest updates, after Amazon, Goldman Sachs and others announced fresh rounds of mass layoffs, even Salesforce Inc. has stepped up and decided to cut some jobs. 

According to a report in Reuters, Marc Benioff, the co-Chief Executive of Salesforce wrote a letter to all employees explaining how the current environment remains challenging on several fronts. It read, “The environment remains challenging and our customers are taking a more measured approach to their purchasing decisions..... As our revenue accelerated through the pandemic, we hired too many people leading into this economic downturn we're now facing, and I take responsibility for that."

Salesforce, the cloud-based software company’s decision to layoffs is also reportedly tagged along with some offices. As per the report, the company is also mulling shutting down few offices in an effort to cut costs further. 

The Reuters report adds that Salesforce said that "the job cuts would lead to about $1.4 billion to $2.1 billion in charges, while only about $800 million to $1 billion will be recorded in the fourth quarter."

As a result of a global economic downturn, several companies have been resorting to cost cutting measures, one of them being mass layoffs across departments. As per several experts, the trend of layoffs is only expected to continue in the coming days.
