On Friday, the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor excise policy case. The Court had reserved its verdict on September 5 after hearing arguments from both Kejriwal's legal team and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Kejriwal had approached the Delhi High Court directly and then moved to the apex court.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan granted the relief to Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh, and two sureties.
The top court directed Kejriwal not to make any public comment on the merits of the case.
