Tech Mahindra Shares Jump Up As Ex-Infosys Veteran Set To Join As CEO

Joshi resigned from his previous position of president of Infosys after working there for 22 years

Tech Mahindra, IT vertical of Mahindra Group, recently appointed Mohit Joshi as its managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) which led its shares to surge by 8 per cent to Rs 1,146.7  in Monday’s intraday trading on BSE. Joshi, will be replacing CP Gurnani and will remain MD and CEO for 5 years with effect from December 20, 2023.  

“Mohit Joshi as the MD & CEO designate of Tech Mahindra. Mohit will take over as MD & CEO when CP Gurnani retires on 19th December 2023. He will join Tech Mahindra well before that date to allow for sufficient transition time,” Tech Mahindra said in a press release.

According to Infosys, Joshi will be on leave and his last day at the company will be on June 9. “The Board of Directors placed on record their deep sense of appreciation for the services rendered by Mohit Joshi and for his contributions to the company,” IT major said in a statement given to stock exchange.

Who is Mohit Joshi ? 

Since he began working for Infosys in 2000, Mohit Joshi has played numerous leadership roles inside the IT giant. He has served as Infosys' president since 2016. Apart from this, before he joined Infosys in 2000 he also worked with ABN AMRO and ANZ Grindlays in their Corporate and Investment bank.
