Twitter layoffs are back in the news after the Elon Musk-led social media platform reportedly axed more jobs. While the SpaceX and Tesla CEO axed about 50 per cent of Twitter staff ever since his takeover, as per latest reports, more job cuts have now happened.
According to a Bloomberg report, this time, Twitter layoffs have impacted the trust and safety team handling the global content moderation and in the unit related to hate speech and harassment. While the exact number of these job cuts is not yet known, it is reportedly expected that at least a dozen more cuts happened on Friday night.

The report adds that among those laid off from Twitter in this recent round of mass layoffs include Nur Azhar Bin Ayob, head of site integrity for the Asia-Pacific region, and Analuisa Dominguez, Twitter's senior director of revenue policy. In addition to this, most of the job cuts have reportedly happened in Twitter’s Dublin and Singapore offices.
“We have thousands of people within Trust and Safety who work content moderation and have not made cuts to the teams that do that work daily,” Reuters quoted Twitter’s Vice President of trust and safety Ella Irwin as saying. She also added that some job cuts were in areas that lacked sufficient volume going forward or wherever it made sense to consolidate, as per the report.

Twitter layoffs, apart from affecting employees globally, have also had an impact on the company’s India division. Back then when layoffs happened, Twitter India’s staff was chopped down by almost 90 per cent in an effort to reduce cost.
