2024 United States Election Results: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated "friend" Donald Trump on his "historic" presidential polls victory, and said he looks forward to renewing their collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership.
Former US President Trump was cruising towards winning the White House race in one of the greatest political comebacks in American history. According to projections, Trump was all set to receive 270 electoral college votes blocking Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' chance to win the polls.
"Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership," Modi said in a post on X.

"Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity," he said.
The prime minister also posted pictures of his previous meetings with Trump, who was the US president from 2016-2020.
Pennsylvania was one of the major swing states which has 19 electoral college votes. After it was confirmed that Trump had secured his victory in the region, the final results of the election became quite apparent. As of 2 pm (IST), the Associated Press had called 267 electoral votes for Trump and 224 for Kamala Harris, leaving Trump just three votes away from the official win.

This will truly be a golden age for America. This is a magnificent victory that will also help us to make America great again," Trump said at the Palm Beach Convention Centre, Florida.
"This was a movement like nobody's ever seen before, and frankly, this was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. There's never been anything like this in this country and maybe beyond, and now it's going to reach a new level of importance because we're going to help our country heal," he further added while addressing the crowd.
