India’s largest private oil and gas exploration and production company Vedanta Cairn Oil & Gas has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as per official updates. Nick Walker, former President and CEO of Lundin Energy has taken charge as the new CEO of Vedanta Cairn Oil & Gas.
According to the official release, Walker’s appointment has come into effect from January 5, 2023. Vedanta Cairn Oil & Gas, which is dedicated towards increasing India’s crude oil and gas production, will now have Walker holding the Chief Executive office with over 30 years of experience. Before this stint, Nick Walker has also worked in companies like BP, Talisman Energy and Africa Oil in technical, commercial and executive leadership roles.

As per the appointment, Nick Walker will be leading all aspects of Vedanta Cairn’s strategy, which includes development of strategic alliances with global partners for faster delivery of their business. His office will also drive adoption and deployment of oil and gas technologies and processes with increased focus on innovation and digitalisation.
With crude oil and gas being significantly important for the world economy, including India’s, Vedanta Cairn Oil & Gas has also set some agendas. As per the official release, the company, while eyeing increased domestic production of crude oil and gas, has also set a vision to contribute 50 per cent of India’s production and adding reserves.
