The day started low for both the benchmark indices as the Sensex and the Nifty lost 7.34 points or 0.02 per cent and 6.25 points or 0.06 per cent, respectively. The Sensex stood at 35,539.99 and the Nifty at 10,765.80, in the initial hours of the trading day.
In the BSE, Vakrangee Ltd, Mphasis Ltd, Bajaj Holdings and Investment Ltd, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd and LIC Housing Finance Ltd gained the most whereas Shri Ram Union Finance Ltd, Strides Shasun Ltd, Union Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and Bharat Electronics Ltd,were the top losers.
While NSE shows, Arvind Ltd, Indraprastha Gas Ltd and CESC Ltd as the top gainers and Strides Shasun Ltd, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and Union Bank of India as the major losers in the market milieu.

The commodities sector was down as gold indices lost Rs 130 or 0.42 per cent to stood at Rs 30,651 per 10 grams and Brent Crude by Rs 62 or 1.38 per cent to stood at RS 4419 per bbl, at the time of writing the report.
In the banking sector, Axis Bank, State Bank of India and HDFC Bank lost 5.45 points or 1.05 per cent, 2.50 points or 0.91 per cent and 5.85 points or 0.28 per cent, respectively, at the time of filing the report.
