Vinay Paharia has been appointed as Chief Investment Officer of Union Asset Management Company Pvt Ltd (Union AMC), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Union Bank of India.
Paharia has over 15 years’ experience in research and fund management. In his new appointment, he will be responsible for overseeing the entire investment functioning of the company.
He was previously with Invesco Asset Management (India) Pvt Ltd, where as Fund Manager - Equity he managed various equity mutual fund schemes. Before Invesco, he worked as equity research analyst for companies such as DBS Cholamandalam AMC, K R Choksey Shares and Securities Pvt Ltd and First Global Stockbroking Pvt Ltd.

Union AMC’s Chief Executive Officer G Pradeepkumar said that Paharia’s expertise will be the growth driver for the company. “It will help us in delivering value to our investors. His in-depth knowledge and rich experience would be of great value in building the investment processes of the organization,” Pradeepkumar added.
On his appointment, Paharia said, “I am thankful to Union Mutual Fund for giving me the opportunity to lead the investment platform of a strong and well-established mutual fund brand”.
Paharia said that he intends to strengthen the investment process at the fund house and “deliver sustainable and consistent investment outcomes for our family of investors, while remaining true to mandate”.

As on 31 March 2018, Union Mutual Fund operates nine open-ended schemes and three close-ended schemes in the equity, debt and hybrid categories, with a total average assets under management (AAUM) of Rs 4,305.04 crore.
