The inaugural Gulfood Green event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, saw India’s dynamic presence as a leader in sustainable food practices and agricultural innovation. This groundbreaking showcase, dedicated to sustainability and cutting-edge technologies, brought together tens of thousands of visitors from the global food and beverage industry.
India’s pavilion featured a diverse range of food and agricultural products, highlighting its growing influence in the sector. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) led the country’s representation, with Regional Director Pritee Chaudhary attending the Future Food Forum. Chaudhary emphasised the need for a sustainable approach to food waste management, advocating for repurposing in industries like biofuel and soap production and minimising landfill waste.

Chaudhary asserted that food waste should be repurposed for industrial uses or animal feed, and composting must be a last resort. She also called for regulatory flexibility to foster innovation in the food sector, stressing that regulations should evolve to support business growth rather than impose rigid restrictions.
Running alongside ISM Middle East and Private Label Middle East, Gulfood Green offered a platform for networking, investor programmes, and groundbreaking product launches. One of the major highlights was the Food for Future Summit, which featured over 90 global leaders discussing food sustainability and agricultural transformation.
India’s participation at the event reflects its dedication to sustainable food systems and global collaboration, reinforcing its role as a key player in shaping the future of the food industry.
