3M Launches Global Docu-series To Spotlight Green Jobs And Tackle Climate Challenges

The docuseries shines a spotlight on individuals addressing climate challenges while emphasising the critical need for talent to support the green transition. Produced in partnership with Generous Films, the series showcases five diverse professionals working across sectors such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, and sustainable fashion, sharing their personal journeys towards building a more sustainable future.

Launched during the 2024 Fast Company Innovation Festival, the series highlights the growing importance of green jobs and the impact they have on addressing climate issues. Hosted by actor and producer Lana Condor, the film will be available on-demand on Apple TV and Google Play in the coming weeks.

The docuseries also draws attention to the findings of 3M’s State of Science Insights report, which reveals that 75 percent of people believe green jobs are essential to combating climate change. Many expect the green jobs market to grow significantly over the next five years.

In addition to the film, 3M is partnering with Work on Climate, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to building a green workforce, to offer resources for professionals interested in green careers. Through its 3Mgives initiative, 3M is also funding green career development programmes in Brazil, Canada, California, Germany, and Korea.

During New York Climate Week, 3M will host a panel discussion on the green economy, featuring experts such as Eugene Kirpichov of Work on Climate and Ben Holzemer of TPG Rise Climate. The discussion will explore how to accelerate the development of green jobs and close the talent gap in the green workforce.
