Three Delhi-based organisations have been honoured with the 15th NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Award for their groundbreaking work in promoting accessibility and inclusivity for people with disabilities.

Orkids Foundation, led by Geet Oberoi, has been recognised for its innovative approach to addressing Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). The foundation's FIRST SCREEN APP, a tool for early diagnosis and intervention, has made a significant impact. Orkids operates 24 centres across India, reaching over 50,000 students.

"Our goal is to empower children with SLD to reach their full potential," said Geet Oberoi, founder of Orkids Foundation. "The FIRST SCREEN APP is a crucial tool in achieving this."

"NAB is committed to creating a more inclusive society for people with disabilities," said a NAB spokesperson. "Our initiatives are aimed at empowering individuals and providing them with the tools they need to succeed."

The Javed Abidi Public Policy Award has been presented to Radhika Alkazi, founder of ASTHA, for her exceptional advocacy efforts. With over 31 years of dedication, Alkazi has played a crucial role in promoting the rights of children and people with disabilities.
