The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is preparing to conduct a critical review of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicators at the national level. The event, titled 'Review of Milestone Setting for SDGs National Indicators', stats on August 16 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

This review is aligned with India's role as a member of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs), according to a PIB press release. The gathering will include officials from various government ministries, NITI Aayog, and MoSPI. The Ministry has developed a National Indicator Framework to monitor SDG progress nationally.

In line with this framework, MoSPI released the 'Sustainable Development Goals – National Indicator Framework Progress Report 2024' on June 29, 2024, alongside two other SDG publications. The National Indicator Framework, updated to reflect the latest SDGs-NIF, aims to provide a comprehensive review of the progress made towards the SDGs.
