Swiggy, the food delivery major, is in advanced negotiations to bring in Flipkart's former senior vice president Amitesh Jha, as head of its quick commerce vertical, Instamart. This is as per media reports.

As per media reports, Swiggy Instamart's CEO Phani Kishan Addepalli will step aside and take up an organisation-wide role involving growth initiatives at the foodtech start-up.

Addepalli, took up the CEO position at Instamart after Karthik Gurumurth stepped down to take a sabbatical.

It is reported that at this stage of Instamart's business, Swiggy wants someone who has handled product categories and Jha is seen as very few who have an in-depth experience in this area.

Jha has served as the senior vice president of category and marketplace of Flipkart for over three years. He has been working with the e-commerce giant for nearly 14 years under various leadership roles. He has served with three other companies in various sectors for over six years.

Addepalli has been working with Swiggy for nearly a decade. He was elevated as the co-founder in 2021 and was also the CEO of Insanely Good, before it merged with Instamart earlier this year.

Before this development, the quick commerce arm reportedly had roped in Sairam Krishnamurthy as senior vice president and chief operating officer, earlier this month.

It has seen several exits in the quick commerce platform because of the overhaul of the leadership changes since 2023.

Karan Arora stepped down as the vice president and head of supply chain management at the food tech major-owned Instamart, this year. Before that, Sidharth Satpathy, vice president at the food delivery giant-owned Instamart, resigned from his position.
