Apple is set to unveil its new line of iPhones, with the latest Watch series and AirPods on 12 September. The launch will be done at Apple’s “Wonderlust” event which will begin at 10:30 pm (Indian Standard Time) at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

The iPhone 15 series, Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2, and AirPods Pro are expected to be unveiled at the event. Among the mobile headsets, the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the four new variants of iPhone being launched, reported Mint.

iPhones

While the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are anticipated to come with a glass back and aluminum sides, the higher-end Pro versions are said to move to a titanium design, which is likely to increase the phones' durability and make them about 10 per cent lighter.

The base models might use last year's A16 processor, while the Pro models will use a new A17 chipset based on a 3-nanometer technology, which is likely to boost their performance and battery life.

In order to reduce the thickness of the bezels around the screen and increase screen size, Apple is also claimed to have employed a manufacturing technique called LIPO, or Low Injection Pressure Overmolding, on the Pro versions. The Pro versions will also get faster USB-C data transfer speeds, thinner borders, better looking screens, along with a customizable action button and a faster chip.

The Pro models are also likely to burn a hole in consumers’ pockets as their specs will make them a lot more expensive.

The top-of-the-line Pro Max will offer a greater range of optical zoom thanks to a periscope lens, which is another added perk from Apple. With this technique, the iPhone's hardware lens can zoom in on an item from 3x to around 6x.

Apple Watch

Apple is slated to release updates to two of its watch lines this year - the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra. The Watch Ultra 2 is expected to be available in 49 millimetre sizes while the Watch Series 9 is expected to be available in 41 millimetre and 45 millimetre sizes.

The new watches are also expected to keep the same look as last year's models, while featuring some basic design changes.

The Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 will see improvements to various sensors and internal components, with the aim of improving speed, and efficiency.

AirPods

Apple is anticipated to release AirPods Pro with USB-C charging capabilities. The earbuds aren't anticipated to receive a significant hardware upgrade, but certain new capabilities, like the ability to mute and unmute Air Pods, a conversational awareness feature that mutes media when people start talking, and more, could be enabled via a software update.
