Food tech unicorn Zomato's co-founder and chief technological officer ( CTO)Gunjan Patidar has resigned, after serving the company for ten years.
"We hereby inform you that Gunjan Patidar, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at the Company has tendered his resignation today," Zomato said in a regulatory filing while addressing his resignation.
"Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato and built the core tech systems for the company. Over the later-plus years, he also nurtured a stellar tech leadership team that is capable of taking on the mantle of leading the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable," it added.

Patidar was one of the key members behind Zomato's technological system.
This has been the first top-level exit in the company this year. Prior to him, the company witnessed its co-founder Mohit Gupta, head of initiatives Rahul Ganjoo and the former head of the intercity legend service, Siddharth Jhawar, leave the company in 2022. Gaurav Gupta, another co-founder, resigned after the company went public.
In November 2022, the company planned to cut down three per cent of its 3,800-strong employee bandwidth to keep the business on profitability track. Before November, it terminated 520 employees in May.
The food delivery app registered Rs 251 crore loss in the second quarter of the financial year ( FY) 2022, compared to Rs 430 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY 2021. It also witnessed a 62 per cent surge in operational revenues to Rs 1,661 crore compared to Rs 1,024 crore in the previous financial year.
