Ever since Elon Musk completed the $44 billion worth Twitter acquisition, he has cut down the workforce in order to reportedly strengthen the company’s profitability as it was making losses. While he started with firing Twitter’s former CEO Parag Agarwal, his moves also reportedly impacted the jobs of Alan Rosa, Head, Global Information Technology at Twitter, Vice President of Information Security and many other senior management roles.
These continued Twitter layoffs add to the list of tech layoffs, ones that have impacted thousands of people globally. From Amazon to Twitter, Meta parent Facebook, Cognizant and so on, major tech players fired employees as the world economy progresses towards a slowdown. While many speculated the tech layoffs to stick to the industry, these layoffs also spread to other industries like consumer goods, media and so on.
