The stock market soared high today as the benchmark BSE Sensex gained 209.05 points or 0.59 per cent to close at 35,692.52. The NSE Nifty also gained 55.9 points or 0.52 per cent to close at 10,842.85.
The Sensex rally was led by Dr. Reddy’s Labs (which rose by 5.23 per cent), SBI (by 3.36 per cent), HUL (2.41 per cent), IndusInd Bank (2.41 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (2.1 per cent), while Bharti Airtel (sell by 1.98 per cent), Tata Steel (by 1.52 per cent), Coal India (1.49 per cent), ONGC(1.10 per cent) and Yes Bank (0.98 per cent) lost during the day's trade.

At the NSE market, Lupin, Dr. Reddy’s Labs and SBI were top three gainers whereas Bharti Airtel, Hindalco and Eicher Motors were top three losers at the time of market closing.
The global and Asian markets had a mixed result as Nikkei, Hang Seng, Shanghai Composite and DAX gained 0.33 per cent, 0.13 per cent, 0.89 per cent, 0.02 per cent, respectively. CAC 40 and FTSE 100 were at the losing end by 0.17 per cent and 0.28 per cent, respectively at the time of going to press.
The BSE Midcap Index gained 143.58 points or 0.90 per cent and stood at 16,151.16, and the Small Cap Index gained the 92.13 points or 0.54 per cent, and stood at 17,065.50

The banking sector saw the shares of SBI, IndusInd Bank and HDFC Bank gain 9.20 points (3.36 per cent), 45.95 points (2.41 per cent) and 1.85 points (0.09 per cent), respectively, whereas Axis Bank lost 3.30 points (0.61 per cent) at the end of the day.
In commodities, the market was down for both gold and Brent Crude as gold lost Rs 56 (0.18 per cent) and closed at Rs 31,160 per 10 grams, and Brent Crude lost Rs 16 (0.36 per cent) and closed at Rs 4,456 per bbl, at the time of filing this report.
